When the Maine High School All-State Jazz Competition kicks off in a few months, Ellsworth High School will be proudly represented by five incredible student musicians!
It’s been quite the rise for the EHS Jazz Band. Just two years ago, only one student qualified for the state competition. Last year, we celebrated our first multi-student showing with two qualifiers. And now, in 2025, we’re thrilled to announce that FIVE!! Eagles have earned their spot at the All-State level—an amazing testament to their talent and hard work.

🎤 Finley Harmon (Senior, Alto Voice) Finley led the way in October’s auditions, earning the highest score in the state for alto voice!
🎤 Jovi Nightingale (Senior, Soprano Voice) Jovi impressed with a standout performance in soprano voice, securing her spot at All-State.
🎷 Harper Turner (Junior, Alto Saxophone) Harper crushed it on the alto sax and will be joining the ensemble in January!
🎤 Juliette Hiatt (Sophomore, Soprano Voice) Juliette delivered a strong audition in soprano voice, earning her place among Maine’s top student vocalists.
🎤 Ella Johnston (Freshman, Alto Voice) In her first-ever qualifying competition, Ella wowed the judges and is headed to All-State in January!
We’re so proud of this talented group and the entire EHS Jazz Band. And a huge thank you to Mr. Calandro for his dedication, mentorship, and the countless hours he puts into helping our students shine.
