My name is Matt Clark and I am the Assistant Principal at Ellsworth High School.
This is my first year at Ellsworth High School after working at Calais Middle High School over the last nine years as Principal and Assistant Principal.
I worked in Ellsworth from 1995 – 1998 as the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Coach and then Study Hall Monitor. That period was one of the most memorable of my career. I enjoyed the staff and the students that I worked with on a daily basis.
I received a Bachelors Degree from Husson College in Business Administration. I went on to attain Special Education Teaching Certification and eventually a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
My first experience in education was coaching various sports. I coached Varsity Football and Varsity Basketball. I also worked at the sub varsity level coaching basketball, baseball, softball, football, and outdoor track. After working in Ellsworth I went on to become and Educational Technician in the area of Special Education. This was an area that I fell in love with and as a result went on to become a Special Education Teacher working at the Old Town Regional Program, Mt. View High School, and Penobscot Valley High School for eventually becoming Assistant Principal at Calais Middle High School.
I hope that every student is offered the best education possible, the school is safe, and that students are active and the school a place they are proud of and enjoy.
I reside in Waldoboro, Maine with my wife Dorie and daughter Meghan.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance.
