Home

My name is Shannon Westphal and I am proud to be a part of the Ellsworth school district.  My family and I have been building a home in Ellsworth over the past several years and love being a part of the community.  I want the best for our students and strive every day to create the best educational experience for them inside of the classroom as well as in extra-curricular clubs and activities.

I have been teaching 2D Design, Digital art, and Advanced Placement Art at EHS since 2013.   I am also one of the advisors for NAHS, National Art Honors Society.  I feel like I have the best job in the world; I get to do what I love every day.  I love art and get to share my love of the arts with students every day.  They inspire me to be a better teacher and person.  I am also blessed to work with a great staff who share and inspire my love of teaching and learning.

I have lived in Maine my whole life.  I graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, with a BA in Art Education and a BA in Studio Art.  I have had the pleasure of teaching on Vinalhaven k-12 school, at the Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary school and now am happily working in the community that I live in.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and concerns.  Thank you for your support of our school and students!
