Physical Education

I am a 1986 graduate of Brewer High School. This is my 24th year of teaching Physical Education. I graduated from the University of Maine in Orono back in 1991 with a degree in Kinesiology and started my teaching career in the fall of 1991 at Old Town High School. I taught there for 11 years before moving on to Ellsworth.

Our Physical Education Department is excited to have your son or daughter as a student in our class! We teach a variety of life-time activities and a few team sports. Some examples of what we expose our students to are: tennis, lacrosse, pickleball, badminton, rollerblading, snow-shoeing and volleyball. We typically spend two to three weeks on each activity.

Our goal in Physical Education is to expose our students to a variety of activities that they can participate in later on in life and learn to enjoy being active. We want our students to enjoy coming to class and participate to the best of their ability every day. We cover the rules, skill development and strategies needed to play/compete in a game situation in a positive environment.
