The Maine Community Foundation is a statewide nonprofit created by and for the people of Maine. The foundation is a philanthropic leader in building sustainable and vibrant communities for all Maine people.
Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations create charitable funds that help Maine meet the challenges of changing times. Today, the community foundation's assets of more than $250 million are held in stewardship for more than 1,300 different funds. Since opening its doors in 1983, the foundation has awarded nearly $150 million in grants and scholarships.
